Pete O’Rourke has stated that Ilkay Gundogan would find a potential move to Arsenal an attractive proposition. The Manchester City midfielder is out of contract at the end of the 2022/23 season and has been the subject of much speculation in recent months. Guardiola is said to be reluctant to let Gundogan go, especially to a Premier League rival, but the German may be tempted by the chance to work with Mikel Arteta again. If Arsenal were to sign Gundogan on a free transfer, it would be a smart piece of business as he is known for his late runs into the box and intelligence on the ball.
Arsenal are being linked with a move for Ilkay Gundogan to their squad this summer, with Manchester City reportedly open to letting the midfielder go at the end of the 2022/23 season.

The German international, who currently sits second in the Premier League players with the most assists, has enjoyed a successful spell at the Etihad Stadium since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2016. Ilkay Gundogan has made 163 appearances in all competitions, with 29 goals and 27 assists in total during his time with the Citizens.

Pete O’Rourke, Sky Sports journalist, has recently stated that the chance to once again work with former Manchester City assistant manager Mikel Arteta could make a possible move to Arsenal an attractive proposition for the player.

In his time with City, Gundogan established himself as one of the best midfielders in the league, with his late runs into the box and intelligence on the ball being particularly effective in setting up goals and chances for others. If Arsenal were successful in signing him on a free transfer, it would be a smart piece of business for the club.

Of course, reports have suggested that Guardiola is reluctant to allow a potential rival for the title benefit from Gouldan’s services, but all signs seem to point to Arsenal being the favourites to land the highly-rated midfielder when his contract with City expires.
