Atalanta attacker Rasmus Hojlund is allegedly a target for Arsenal and Newcastle United when the season ends.
The 20-year-old Danish striker has made an immediate impact on Italian football since joining the Italian club at the beginning of the season.
Hojlund has contributed 14 goals and 5 assists to Atalanta and Sturm Graz this season across all competitions.
It is not shocking that Arsenal would want to recruit the young, skilled striker at the end of the current campaign. Since Gabriel Jesus is the lone striker on the team, Mikel Arteta must strengthen his squad if he wants to compete in all areas next season.
However, Callum Wilson hasn’t been too impressive this year, thus Newcastle has to find another goal scorer to complement Alexander Isak.
The two teams will likely compete in the Champions League next season, and to handle the increased amount of games, they will require a deeper roster.
The midfielder is valued by Atalanta at between €40 and €45 million, according to TuttoAtalanta, so it would be interesting to see whether any of the two Premier League teams is willing to pay that much to get Hojlund.
The 20-year-old may end up paying for himself in the long run and proving to be a wise long-term investment.
The rumored asking price can be met by any club, and it is still unclear where the 20-year-old will ultimately sign.
