Journalist Charles Watts claims that Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, does not want Jorginho to leave during the summer transfer window.
Jorginho turned out to be a very good addition to the team despite all the criticism Arsenal received over a potential deal when the Gunners made the big decision to sign him in the January transfer window.
To offset the cost of signing players like Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber, reports have claimed that Arsenal is willing to sell Jorginho during the summer transfer window.
“They’re very happy with how it worked out,” Watts said to TEAMtalk. He replaced Partey in the side by the end of last season, and I thought he was excellent when he first entered the lineup.
“Long term, if Partey stays—and that’s a big ‘if’ right now—I would say Partey probably goes back ahead of him in the pecking order, but I think Jorginho still has a very, very big part to play.
He’s a huge figure and extremely well-liked behind the scenes. He also quickly became a leader at Arsenal off the pitch. He is well-liked by the players and Mikel Arteta, and I believe he will play a significant role.
This season, Arsenal will play some big-squad games, especially with the return of Champions League football. Jorginho possesses all the necessary experience to be able to handle and handle that.
He is content at Arsenal, I am aware of that, and I would be extremely shocked if Jorginho were to leave before the transfer window closes.
JORGINHO, WILL YOU LEAVE ARSENAL?
Jorginho was a great acquisition for the Gunners during the January transfer window because of the value he adds both on and off the pitch. He is a truly excellent player to have on the team.
But with all the players that have been brought in, he might feel that he is working too hard to earn a weekly starting spot and that, at this point in his career, sitting on the bench is not what he wants to do.
Arteta wants him in the club, but if he actually pushes him out, she will understand.
