According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal has been told that they can sign Galatasaray defender Sacha Boey for just £21.5 million this summer.

Mikel Arteta will be looking to bolster his squad in the coming weeks after missing out on the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal’s entry into the Champions League will only increase the need for more quality depth.

Ben White has excelled at right-back over the past year, but the Gunners will be keen to bring in suitable cover for the Englishman, and a move for Sacha Boey has been linked.

Indeed, Fabrizio Romano claimed just last month that Boey’s representatives had flown to England to meet with two clubs about a summer transfer.

Now, a transfer insider has told GiveMeSport that Arsenal are well-informed about the terms of a potential summer move for Boey.

Arsenal has offered Boey a contract.

According to Romano, Arsenal is aware that they could sign Boey for around £21.5 million this summer, but they have yet to initiate talks with the Frenchman.

“For Boey, I’m just told that they are informed on the terms of the deal, €25 million [£21.5 million] price tag,” he said.

“I’m not aware of any direct contract between Arsenal and his agent in terms of negotiations, so at the moment it’s still a quiet situation.”

The centre of defence was one area that cost Arsenal in the title race as Arteta’s men struggled without William Saliba towards the end of the season.

In Holding’s absence, Arteta chose to play Holding for a few weeks before introducing January signing Jakub Kiwior into the starting lineup.

He even moved Ben White to centre back and shifted Thomas Partey to right back.

Bringing in Boey would undoubtedly help Arsenal, as he would provide adequate cover for White on the right side. It would also allow Arteta to use White as a centre-back when necessary.

The 22-year-old fits the profile of a typical Arsenal signing, having contributed to five goals in 31 Super Lig appearances this season.

He could provide Arteta with a different type of option at right-back, and given that the ‘amazing’ defender appears to be available at a reasonable price, it wouldn’t be surprising if Arsenal took Galatasaray up on their offer.
