Ilkay Gundogan’s new teammates have nothing but positive things to say about him since he joined the Barcelona team.
Everyone has been in awe of the former Manchester City midfielder, from young players like Pedri to seasoned players like Robert Lewandowski.
On Gerard Romero’s Twitch stream, journalist Alex Pintanel stated that the club as a whole is very surprised by the German and how quickly he has adapted to Xavi’s methods and the rest of the group.
Gundogan leaving a good first impression
After several weeks of hustling, Barcelona finally signed Gundogan as a free agent for two seasons with an option for a third in late June.
Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen recently acknowledged that he is overjoyed that his fellow German chose the Barça challenge.
“I’ve been trying to help Gündogan with everything he needs to fit right into the team for the couple of years that I’ve known him. Knowing Pep Guardiola, he will have no trouble adapting, the stopper predicted.
Young midfielder Pedri recently praised the treble-winner, saying that Gundogan’s presence gives the team more composure and that he hopes to have a lot of fun playing with him.
According to Alex Pintanel, Gundogan appears to be living up to the hype and has adapted admirably to both Barcelona’s coaching style and his new teammates.
Gundogan declined Man City’s offer to join Barça.
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, recently acknowledged that he will regret not persuading Gundogan to stay at the Etihad.
To be fair, the midfielder received a new contract offer with much higher pay than he would have received at Barcelona.
But the player ultimately decided to sign with the Blaugrana and stated, “You can’t say no to Barça. I’ve wanted to play for this team and defend this crest ever since I was a young child.
Gundogan had said that he would find it simpler to adapt to Barcelona’s philosophies if he played for Guardiola at City.
“Many of the things we do here are similar to what we did at City with Pep and that also gives me an advantage, it’s easier to adapt,” he had stated.
Gundogan’s time at Barcelona appears to have started off well, it is safe to say given the current state of affairs.
