According to recent rumours from Turkey, Arsenal has made a move to sign Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey, who is also wanted by Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

What are the most recent Arsenal transfer rumours?

Jurrien Timber will play right-back for Mikel Arteta’s team next season, giving the manager plenty of alternatives. He also has Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White at his disposal, but the Gunners are still being connected to additional options.

Arteta may want to add some more competition at right-back, and Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo continues to be a potential target, according to journalist Dean Jones. Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that Cedric Soares could be sold.

“According to my source, Arsenal may well attempt to make a trade if Cancelo is still available later in the window. It’s not completely ignored; it’s just not a top priority. A greater luxury.

Arsenal has also been mentioned as a possible bidder for Boey; earlier in the transfer season, rumours claimed that they went so far as to make a “official offer” of £12 million.

According to sources from Turkey, Newcastle and Juventus are also keeping a close eye on him, and both Arsenal and Tottenham have gotten in touch with Galatasaray to talk about a potential summer transfer. (Thanks to Sport Witness)

The Frenchman has previously expressed his gratitude for the rumours that have connected him with a move to the Emirates Stadium and his desire to play in the Premier League.

Although Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk expressed his wish to keep him, saying, “We want to continue with Boey and [Victor] Nelsson,” it appears as though a transfer is quite improbable this summer. If the players remain with the team, we can fulfil our Champions League ambition.

Sacha Boey, who is he?

The £9k per week defender, hailed as a “true warrior” by Turkish media, has made a reputation for himself at Galatasaray over the past few seasons, making 31 league games as his team won the title last season.

The right-back was recognised as Galatasaray’s fifth best performer throughout the year with an average WhoScored match rating of 7.31 in the Turkish Super Lig, excelling both defensively and offensively.

The former Rennes player contributed four assists, tied for the fourth-highest total of any player on the team, and averaged 2.8 tackles per game, tied for the most with former Arsenal star Lucas Torreira.

It is regrettable that Boey, who seems to be a very well-rounded full-back, won’t be available this summer, but the Gunners shouldn’t make a new right-back their top priority.

Arteta has the options of Timber, Tomiyasu, and White, but if he thinks that he needs another player, he might try to sign Cancelo, who has Premier League experience.
