Darwin Nunez asserted that following Liverpool’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur today, “everyone is against.”
The referees gave the Reds an exceptionally poor hand; even the PGMOL acknowledged that Luis Diaz’s goal in the first half had been incorrectly rejected.
Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota received questionable red cards, and all of it made for an immensely difficult evening for Liverpool.
The Reds official Instagram page shared a picture of the game with the message “It ends in defeat” following the game. A man who wasn’t there at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium was below the post.
The 24-year-old wrote, “Come on Liverpool, we are together and against everyone.”
Nunez responds defiantly for Liverpool
It truly does feel like Liverpool is up against the world right now. This season, there have been a lot of very, really poor choices made against the Reds.
That being said, today’s with Diaz is definitely the worst. The Colombian was unequivocally in the lead and it wasn’t even close.
Diaz also had a fantastic finish. It is now meaningless.
What it should accomplish is instill a sense of besiege in Liverpool. When combined with the current team’s calibre, that can be detrimental to their opponents.
The Reds were actually extremely good against Tottenham, regardless of the outcome. Liverpool appeared confident and threatening while playing eleven on eleven and even 10 on ten.
They’re going to be difficult to stop if they can carry over today’s unluck and sense of unfairness into the remaining games of the season.
Even if it might not feel that way right now, Liverpool could be able to capitalise on today to start something truly remarkable. Nunez might be the ideal person to take the lead.
