Didi Hamann has suggested that Liverpool should look to sign Declan Rice in the summer transfer window in order to improve their midfield. He believes that Rice would be the perfect player to help make the other players better and help the team build.
Liverpool are undoubtedly looking to strengthen their midfield options ahead of next season and, according to former great Didi Hamann, Declan Rice should be very much on the Reds’ radar this summer.

Hamann believes that the 21-year-old West Ham United star is the perfect player to improve the team’s options, and that his presence would help make the other players better around him.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Hamann insisted that Liverpool should take the opportunity to sign Rice this summer. “Liverpool need someone on the ball. They need someone who can get the ball and keep it and Rice can be that man. He has massive potential and he fits the profile of what Liverpool are looking for. He is a fantastic player,” he said.

The Englishman has already shown himself to be a top-class midfielder in the Premier League, having made over 100 appearances for West Ham since his debut in 2017.

He’s also been capped 13 times for the senior England squad, with many tipping him to become a leading figure in Gareth Southgate’s team in the near future.

Rice’s versatility to operate in both defensive roles and further up the pitch makes him even more appealing for Liverpool.

Of course, Hamann isn’t against the team making other signings this summer. He believes that Liverpool need to make a few acquisitions that would both strengthen the team and provide some much-needed back-up to the various positions, giving them the best chance at a successful 2021-22 season.

If Liverpool do make a move for Rice this summer, they certainly wouldn’t be disappointed.
