With Manchester United heavily involved in the battle to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, it appears the Red Devils are working hard not to lose that competition.
Tuttosport, an Italian newspaper, has published a new story about the 24-year-old, claiming that with the Italian club’s expected difficulties in keeping the player this summer, they are already looking for other targets to replace him.
Concerning Osimhen’s potential destinations, they mention talks between Napoli and Bayern Munich for a deal worth €120 million plus bonuses.
But nothing has been finalized, and that is where Manchester United come in, with Tuttosport reporting that the Red Devils have been attempting to ‘enter’ these negotiations in order to persuade the striker to move to England instead.
Napoli understands how valuable the player is and should play this game to maximize the value of his sale this summer.
The striker has 25 goals for the club this season, and it’s difficult to imagine the club focusing on his departure before the Serie A title is confirmed.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are planning to sign a center-forward because Wout Weghorst isn’t performing to expectations.
