According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United is keeping a close eye on Davide Frattesi, who is also wanted by Roma and Juventus. (Page 13).

The Italy international is currently playing for Sassuolo in Serie A, but he has been linked with a move to a bigger club during the summer transfer window.

Roma and Juventus have already expressed interest in signing him, and the latter has reportedly made contact with his agent and Sassuolo.

The pair, however, are not alone in the race. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, United is also interested and has been following him for some time.

Will United move for Frattesi this summer?

It was reported in November of last year that United were keeping tabs on the 23-year-old and that he could be lured away from Sassuolo for €30 million.

United did not approach him in January, and it remains to be seen whether they will make a genuine effort to secure his services at the end of the season.

Frattesi has a pass accuracy of 78% this season, but he has caught the eye with his offensive and defensive contributions to his club.

The Italian has scored six goals from open play and has won an impressive 1.8 tackles and 5.1 duels per appearance for Sassuolo.

His statistics for a central midfielder are quite good, but manager Erik ten Hag may prefer a new signing who can provide more control in the center of the park.

As things stand, Christian Eriksen has been United’s best midfield distributor, averaging just over 83 percent of successful passes.

Hence, the Red Devils need a marquee midfield signing with a pass accuracy of 90 per cent plus. Ten Hag’s continued interest in Frenkie de Jong comes as no surprise.
