Mikel Arteta ought to think about benching Kai Havertz and giving Emile Smith Rowe an opportunity to play for Arsenal, according to Darren Bent.
After recovering from an injury, Smith Rowe has had difficulty obtaining regular playing time; however, he did appear in the most recent game against Brentford.
Bent thinks Smith Rowe should be given a chance to show off his skills in the starting lineup in order to help Arsenal with their midfield issues.
On Talk Sport, he said:
It appears that Arteta has a short memory. What two players got him through the season when his job was on the line, back in 2021–2022? Saka [Bukayo] and Rowe, Smith. That season, Smith Rowe scored ten goals in the Premier League.
“He was hampered by injuries in the next season, but it’s absurd to wonder if he can play at this level.”
“I would rather play Smith Rowe every day of the week, if you ask me, than Havertz.”
Bent’s viewpoint emphasises Smith Rowe’s prior contributions to the group, highlighting his goal-scoring prowess and influence during pivotal moments for Arsenal.
He says that Smith Rowe’s addition might improve the midfield’s performance and inventiveness, giving Arteta a possible replacement.
