Andy Robertson backed Mo Salah, his colleague at Liverpool, saying that despite all the rumours about his future, he has been a “superb” player for the Reds.

The Saudi Pro League’s late push for the Egyptian international’s services at the close of the summer transfer window did not appear to distract him, as he recorded two assists in a 3-1 comeback victory over Wolves at the Molineux.

The Scotland international told TNT Sports, “I think he was superb on the pitch and obviously there was a lot of talk outside it.” Now that it’s all over, I believe he, along with the rest of us, gave another excellent second half effort. First, I believed that none of us were really at it.

Al-Ittihad made a nine-figure offer for the 31-year-old, as the Saudi team launched a bold bid to entice the most well-known athlete in the Arabic world to the Middle East.

All things considered, though, six goal contributions in five league appearances this season speaks for itself, doesn’t it?

When we needed him most, the Liverpool forward showed how important the game was to him by expressing his annoyance at Darwin Nunez’s misplaced ball during the second half of play.

It remains to be seen if our No. 11 will carry on showing off his skills past the January or summer window of the following year.

For the time being, though, he seems fully dedicated to the cause at Anfield, and what a cause it is, with the Reds leading the standings as of this writing.
