Kerem Akturkoglu, a winger for Galatasaray, is being closely watched by Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, according to Turkish media site Fotomac.
The 24-year-old has managed four goals and four assists for Gala in all competitions thus far this season, making his debut with the Turkish powerhouses a remarkable one. He made a big impression the previous season as well, and it appears he has continued his strong play.
According to Fotomac, Akturkoglu has drawn interest from a number of teams, including Arsenal and Spurs. West Ham, another London team, is also keeping a careful eye on him.
It appears that Ange Postecoglou keeps a careful eye on the Turkish league, therefore it’s not surprising that he wants Akturkoglu on his team. The Gunners also observed him during Gala’s 3-2 Champions League victory over Manchester United.
The left-winger would be available for approximately £14.6 million, which might be considered a great deal. He has a contract with the team until 2026.
A clever addition?
Arsenal, who trailed Manchester City in the previous season’s standings, are already emerging as serious title contenders. The Gunners recently defeated Manchester City 1-0 and are currently leading the table.
Although the Gunners have an abundance of attacking midfield players, Mikel Arteta might yet be persuaded to upgrade in that position. They are competing for medals on the European and national stages, so having a deep roster is essential.
Spurs have so far taken the world by surprise. Few had anticipated them to get off to such a terrific start, especially with a new manager and without Harry Kane (who headed to Bayern Munich). But they have been incredibly consistent thus far, and come May, they might be in the running for the championship.
The North London team has been strongly linked to a move for Jota and may be tempted to add a new winger. Postecoglou may move for Akturkoglu if they are unable to sign the former Celtic attacker.
