According to reports, Arsenal intends to sign at least four players this summer to help them prepare for the Champions League next season.

The Gunners are having a fantastic season under Mikel Arteta and look set to qualify for the Champions League next season, barring a major setback.

With a win over Everton on Wednesday, they can move five points clear of second-placed Manchester City.

In January, Arteta added Jacub Kiwior, Leandro Trosssard, and Jorginho to his squad. According to The Times, the Spaniard intends to sign two more midfielders, a winger, and a left back this summer.

Arsenal’s transfer plans have been revealed.

Declan Rice has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Granit Xhaka, with the West Ham midfielder heavily linked with a move to the Emirates.

Journalist Gary Jacobs told The Times that Arsenal are ‘confident of beating Chelsea’ to his signature, with the west London club also keen on the England international.

After rejecting several contracts at the Hammers and confirming his desire to play in the Champions League, Jacobs stated that Rice could cost £80 million.

Arteta could also return for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, after they saw two bids rejected for the 21-year-old in January.

According to the report, the club may use Kieran Tierney to fund transfers, with Newcastle thought to be interested in the Scottish left back.

This season, the 25-year-old has only made four Premier League starts, with Oleksandr Zinchenko starting first.

Meanwhile, midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, who is currently on loan at Crystal Palace, and full back Nuno Tavares, who is currently on loan at Marseilles, are both expected to be sold this summer.

Furthermore, Arteta will have to make a decision on Emile Smith Rowe’s future, who hasn’t been a part of the team this season due to groin surgery.

While the club must also deal with Folarin Balogun’s situation. This season, the striker, who is on loan at Reims, has lit up France, becoming the league’s second highest scorer behind Kylian Mbappe.

Balogun is likely to want to play first-team football, as Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah appear to be ahead of him in the Emirates pecking order.

The Englishman is sure to have a slew of clubs vying for his services this summer, and Arsenal may look to capitalize on that interest.
