Paul Brown has said that if Arsenal can secure a deal for Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, it would be an “absolutely phenomenal signing”. He believes that the Gunners will need to qualify for the Champions League in order to make the move happen, as Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the 2022 World Cup winner.
Arsenal fans were excited to hear Paul Brown’s recent remarks about Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez.
Brown, a transfer expert, believes that signing the Argentinian forward would be an “absolutely phenomenal signing”. However, the Gunners will have to meet Inter Milan’s demands and qualify for the Champions League in order to secure the deal.
Not only is Arsenal interested in Martinez, but their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping an eye on the 2022 World Cup winner. However, Martinez, who is currently Inter’s second-highest goalscorer, is said to be keen on joining Arsenal.
The 22-year-old has scored a total of 46 goals in just over 100 appearances for the Nerazzurri and has also represented his country 13 times. He is considered to be one of the most promising young players in world football, and Brown believes that if the Gunners can secure a deal for him it would be “absolutely transformational”.
With Arsenal just four points off fourth-placed Chelsea in the Premier League, qualifying for the Champions League is an achievable goal. If they can achieve this, and make a competitive offer for Martinez, then that could be the decisive factor for Inter.
Only time will tell whether Martinez will arrive in the Premier League with Arsenal, but one thing is for sure: it would be a major coup for the Gunners if they can beat the competition to sign him.
