Julian Brandt, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, is apparently a target for Arsenal.
The 26-year-old German international is reportedly on the London club’s radar, and they may try to make a bid for him at the end of the current campaign, according to a report from Bild (h/t Fichajes).
Brandt’s contract will expire at the end of the current campaign, and if he declines to sign a contract extension, Borussia Dortmund may feel forced to sell him.
The 26-year-old has contributed significantly to the first squad for the German club this season, scoring 9 goals and dishing out 5 assists in all competitions.
The German midfielder can play both wings and the ten position. If Arsenal is able to sign him, his adaptability will be an extra benefit.
The meet field for Arsenal will need to be improved next season, especially if they make the Champions League. A deeper roster will be necessary if Mikel Arteta wants to assemble a team that can contend for major championships each season.
Tottenham Hotspur, a rival team in London, is apparently also interested in Brandt. Tottenham has been connected with players like Nicolo Zaniolo recently, and Antonio Conte is looking for a high-caliber offensive midfielder.
Both Premier League teams would benefit from signing Brandt, but it is still unclear where he will finish up. The 26-year-old would undoubtedly prefer to sign with a franchise where he would frequently play for the first team.
