A week prior, despite a sombre defensive performance in which the home team had 34 shots on goal, Manchester United managed to salvage a draw from Liverpool. Arsenal, on the other hand, limited Liverpool to 13 efforts, matching their own total.
White also emphasised Arsenal’s determination to challenge Liverpool, who had won eleven straight at home prior to the United tie. “I think when you come here it’s so, so tough and to come away with a point is probably a positive,” he said.
