Following his performance for Arsenal yesterday, Bukayo Saka has received social media plaudits from Edu Gaspar, the sporting director of Arsenal.

With Gabriel Magalhaes’ early goal, the Gunners earned a point at Anfield.

Halfway through, Gabriel’s goal was cancelled out by Mohamed Salah, but Arsenal played well away from home.

Both teams’ defensive players had a great game, and William Saliba was named Sky Sports’ Man of the Match.

In actuality, because of the outstanding defensive play on show, neither team was able to generate many clear-cut opportunities during the game.

However, Bukayo Saka’s efforts off the right flank for Arsenal on Saturday night impressed Edu Gaspar.

Saka’s recent performance at Arsenal is praised by Edu.

After yesterday’s 1-1 draw at Anfield, Saka resorted to Instagram to express his disappointment at not winning all three points.

“We wanted more today, but we’ll take the lesson, keep working, and we’re happy to be leading into Christmas,” he wrote.

Edu praised the Hale End Academy product in a comment that he wrote under the post.

This season, Edu has developed a practice of complimenting his players on social media following games, and he’s growing in stature at Arsenal.

Even if he wasn’t directly responsible for Saka’s success at Arsenal, he did bring in a lot of excellent players when Mikel Arteta was manager.

Saka, for his part, contributed significantly to some of the Gunners’ greatest moments even though he wasn’t exactly at his best in the final third yesterday.

In fact, in the first half, the 22-year-old ran through on goal, setting up a wonderful opportunity for Gabriel Martinelli.

Given that a draw at Anfield will guarantee that Arsenal leads the Premier League on Christmas Day once more, you would think they would be happy with a draw.

Arteta will be driven this time to lead his team to victory after coming just short the previous term.
