In yet another agonising derby, Manchester City defeated Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford.

When United defeated City 2-1 at Old Trafford in January, there was a lot of hope. There were many drawbacks to the outcome from this past Sunday.

The fact that City won the match 3-0 demonstrated that Erik ten Hag’s club is not making any progress in closing the gap between the two teams.

However, Andre Onana’s performance was something to find some small comfort in, if you’re looking for it.

Pep Guardiola gives Andre Onana credit.

Manchester United’s Andre Onana made seven saves against City, which was crucial in maintaining a respectable score.

His two-handed diving stop to deflect an Erling Haaland header from close range at the end of the first half was the best save of the game.

According to BBC Sport, City manager Pep Guardiola commended the save, saying, “Erling had an incredible chance at the end of the first half and Onana makes an incredible save.”

After stopping a Scott McTominay attempt at the opposite end, Guardiola also gave his own goalie plaudits.

“After the second goal, we were at our best in the second half, but they had one chance with McTominay and Ederson makes a great save.”

Erling Haaland, a striker, praised Andre Onana even more and pointed out one of his saves after the break.

Just before halftime, he told the reporters for City, “It was an incredible save.” In the second half, he made another outstanding stop with his head after I chipped it. It exists as it is. Our victory

It was not completely within Andre Onana’s power.

Sadly, the outfield players’ performance on the pitch spoke volumes about Andre Onana, who was undoubtedly Manchester United’s greatest player.

His confidence has undoubtedly increased since he produced a pivotal penalty save to preserve a win over Copenhagen in midweek, which might mark a turning point in his United career.

That he is playing well is encouraging. Ever since the international break, he has been reliable.

If he does this well, Erik ten Hag will have one less issue to handle because he already has his hands full with other matters.
