According to sources, Manchester City is preparing a massive approach for Kingsley Coman in an attempt to prevent the Bayern Munich star from signing with Barcelona first.
August 2015 saw Coman sign a two-year loan with Bayern, which became a permanent agreement in July 2017. With 294 games, the left winger has contributed 63 goals and 66 assists to Bayern’s 294 victories. The Bavarians have won three German Cups, eight Bundesliga crowns, and one Champions League.
Due to injuries that kept him out of the game for extended periods of time, Coman only managed five goals and three assists in 27 appearances last season.
Although the Frenchman’s deal with Bayern expires in June 2027, there has been increasing talk recently regarding a possible move away from Allianz Arena.
Bayern has come under fire for not changing enough during their run of extraordinary success, which gave Bayer Leverkusen the opportunity to win the championship the previous year. Bayern might therefore restructure their team by letting go of prominent players like Coman, Joshua Kimmich, and Leon Goretzka.
It was revealed on Thursday that Bayern had offered Barcelona the opportunity to sign Coman. Bayern is aware that the 28-year-old is a huge admirer of their former manager Hansi Flick, who is currently in charge of Barca, and that this will aid in the deal’s completion.
Barcelona’s failure to sign Nico Williams is another element that will assist Bayern in getting Coman off their books. The Spain star wants to stay at Athletic Club, therefore Barcelona needs to find other options on the left wing, like Coman.
However, the transfer rumors have now taken a turn for the worst. German media reports claim that Man City has set its sights on Coman and may now be able to sign him before Barcelona.
Man City moves: Significant Kingsley Coman connection
But City would prefer to recruit Coman on loan for the season with the option to buy him the following summer rather than shelling out a lot of cash for him.
Pep Guardiola, who has previously collaborated with the attacker at Bayern, would be able to assess the player’s performance in the Premier League with such a contract.
Coman has a strong pedigree, so if he can keep in shape, he could do well in England. The Paris-born star has played for France in more over 50 games and has league championships with Bayern, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain.
City would probably have to sell one of their present left wingers if Coman moved to the Etihad. Since Jeremy Doku joined the team, Jack Grealish has grown irritated with the amount of playing time Guardiola has given him, and TEAMtalk has learned that Aston Villa is considering resigning their former captain.
