Kim Min-Jae’s transfer to Manchester United from Napoli is closer than ever thanks to the fact that the Red Devils have already found him a home in the city.
The South Korean is allegedly determined to quit the freshly crowned Serie A Champions “regardless of Napoli’s will,” according to Italian publication Il Mattino.
The most recent information contradicts rumours that Kim’s representatives had earlier insisted that a transfer to Old Trafford was not imminent.
According to them, “the transfer to Manchester United is not true,” they informed Star News. Kim Min-jae is presently concentrating on completing the season.
Il Mattino now claims that a deal with Erik ten Hag’s squad is “practically done,” despite concerns from the player’s camp.
In fact, the issue has escalated to the point where a “villa” in Manchester’s upscale Alderley Edge district has been specifically chosen.
Even though the Red Devils have not yet met with Napoli, Kim Min-jae is apparently ready and eager to sign a €9 million per season contract with the Old Trafford club.
It was believed earlier this week that Kim had accepted Man United’s offer of a contract worth £150,000 a week.
The defender’s €65 million release clause has already been ‘prepared to pay,’ so negotiations may be a formality at this point.
His release clause’s exact amount has been disputed; one estimate places it closer to €56 million.
At first, it was also believed that United would “attempt” to include Victor Lindelöf in the deal for Kim Min-jae.
However, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiise, who ‘just wants cash,’ is not keen on the inclusion of any player that might result in a reduction in price.
