Manchester United are prepared to pay €60 million to sign Napoli defender Kim Min-jae this summer, with a ‘offensive’ already underway.
According to Corriere dello Sport, a deal is in the works if Manchester United comes calling at the end of the season.
They explain that Napoli’s director of football Cristiano Giuntoli is gearing up for a busy year, with several of the Italian club’s prized assets expected to be pursued by major European clubs.
Kim is one of them, and if Manchester United ‘knocks with their feet’ while holding a €60 million bid for the defender, the only option is to negotiate a deal.
That process has already begun, and while there has been no direct correspondence between the parties involved, there is a belief that the transfer ‘could be done quickly’.
Napoli would be sad to see the defender go, but they recognise that there is a significant capital gain to be made on someone they paid €18 million for a year ago.
Manchester United are eager to sign him and are ‘waiting to know the real amount’ that they will have to pay to secure his signature in a transfer that appears increasingly likely following the player’s impressive season.
