According to reports, Jurrien Timber is thinking about leaving Ajax this summer, and his girlfriend has already started looking at homes in Liverpool.

At Ajax, Timber excelled under Erik ten Hag, helping the Dutch powerhouse win the Eredivisie the previous season. After Ten Hag assumed leadership of the Old Trafford club, the defender was one of the players linked with a transfer to Manchester United.

Although Timber made the decision to remain in Amsterdam at the time, the 21-year-old is reportedly looking to relocate this summer, per the Dutch program Veronica Offside.

The youngster previously played 30 games under Ten Hag in the 2021–22 season, and United is reportedly interested once more.

According to reports, Timber felt moving to Old Trafford wasn’t appropriate for the stage of his career last summer, and Ajax was hesitant to let another of their academy standouts go.

Ten Hag might once again miss the defender. Although Timber is reportedly eager to leave Ajax this time, Liverpool seems like a more likely option than United for the player.

Timber to join Liverpool?
According to reports in the Netherlands (via the Metro) that his girlfriend has already looked into possible housing options in the area, Liverpool may be Timber’s preferred summer destination.

If Timber were to move to Anfield, he would be reunited with Dutch center back Virgil van Dijk. Ryan Gravenberch, another former Ajax teammate, has also been linked to Anfield this summer.

Due to Joel Matip and Joe Gomez’s struggles as backups throughout the season, Jurgen Klopp is planning to oversee a rebuild at Liverpool this season. The defense is just one of several positions that require attention.

Timber, who has a deal with Ajax through 2025, has been vague about a possible summer transfer.

According to Ajax Life, the Dutch international remarked, “Transfer? You can never predict what will come your way.

I’ll consider my options and make a decision this summer.

“I feel good at Ajax, which is crucial right now. There was interest last summer, but I decided to remain in Ajax.
