According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal target Tammy Abraham is open to a summer move to Newcastle United.

While it is unclear whether Abraham would prefer to play for Mikel Arteta or Eddie Howe, he is clearly interested in the latter.

This could be bad news for Callum Wilson if Newcastle signs Arsenal-linked striker Tammy Abraham, given the former’s poor form since the World Cup.

But the potential arrival of Abraham, who is valued at £71 million, shows that the Magpies are not going to stop striving to improve.

Tammy Abraham, an Arsenal target, would be open to a move to Newcastle.

While the 25-year-old has only scored six goals for Roma this season in Serie A, he has remained a highly-rated goalscorer since breaking through at Chelsea.

However, Newcastle appear unconcerned about pursuing Tammy Abraham, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, according to Ben Jacobs’ revelation on the NUFCMatters YouTube channel.

“Callum Wilson doesn’t have many seasons ahead of him, so perhaps Newcastle are looking for a more traditional No.9, and [Dusan] Vlahovic would fall into that category, and they’ve also looked at Tammy Abraham without making any progress.”

“He’s been on their radar as well, and I believe Abraham would be open to returning to the Premier League sooner rather than later.”

Tammy Abraham is a huge fan of Alan Shearer.

If some Newcastle fans prefer Tammy Abraham to join Arsenal, Alan Shearer’s assessment of the player may change their minds.

“I’m a big Tammy Abraham fan. Given his experience, he’s playing a difficult role. He has a good touch, technique, and is good at bringing people into the game. He’ll be overjoyed with the number of goals returned.”

“He’ll only get better,” he said, according to The Daily Star.
