Reiss Nelson’s spectacular goal in practise for Arsenal, who are working hard in Germany in preparation for the new season, really impressed Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners finished second in the previous campaign, five points behind Manchester City, the champions. They will have to put in a lot of effort to realise their goal of eliminating that deficit next term.

Nelson did something in a practise game that the Arsenal manager really liked, and Arteta is putting his players through their paces at the Adidas HQ in Germany.

Reiss Nelson’s last-second winner against Bournemouth was undoubtedly the most memorable of Arsenal’s stunning goals from last season.

The Englishman hardly ever made a start, but he consistently stood out when he came in. His sensational substitute performance against the Cherries most likely persuaded Arteta to keep hold of him.

Nelson agreed to a new long-term contract at Arsenal after extensive negotiations behind the scenes, and it was made official last week.

He wants to have a successful season, and a video posted by Arsenal’s Twitter account demonstrates that he is working hard to win over his manager.

On the other side of the pitch, Nelson is seen picking up the ball, dribbling past three opponents, leaving Gabriel Jesus on the ground, and finishing with his weaker foot.

Arteta absolutely adored being close to the goal. Below, you can watch the goal and the Spaniard’s response.

Reiss Nelson’s season at Arsenal may be crucial.

The Englishman, described by Mikel Arteta (BT Sport) as a “special talent,” possesses all the necessary abilities to perform at the highest level; he just needs to find the right consistency.

That will happen as he participates in more games, and the fact that Arteta persuaded Arsenal to get him to agree to a new contract demonstrates his willingness to give him those chances.

How much of an impact Nelson can have for Arsenal the following season will be interesting to see.
