Manchester United must outbid Arsenal and Liverpool this summer to sign Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis MacAllister.

The Red Devils are expected to sign another star midfielder in the coming transfer window, and Mac Allister is one of the names on their radar.

According to Argentine journalist Luis Cesar Merlo, United, Arsenal, and Liverpool all have “concrete interest” in signing the 24-year-old this summer.

Two of those clubs are reportedly in talks with Brighton. The player’s father and agent are said to be in England monitoring the situation.

United, in our opinion, must sign the World Cup winner before their Premier League rivals.

Mac Allister would be an excellent midfield addition.

Mac Allister has been an excellent signing for Brighton. He began as a defensive midfielder but can now also play central and attacking midfield.

His value has risen with each game, and Brighton are likely to demand a high fee. After the World Cup final, Transfermarkt valued him at £37 million.

Brighton could easily double the price given his rapid progress. Mac Allister has scored 10 goals for his club this season, with five of them coming from open play.

The Argentine has also provided a couple of assists. He has also been outstanding defensively, averaging 2.2 tackles and 5.5 duels won in the Premier League.

Mac Allister has finished 88% of his passes. As a result, aside from his aerial ability, there are no obvious weaknesses, and United must retain his services.

With his ability to play in three midfield positions, he would be an excellent acquisition. The fee could be higher, but he would be good value for money.

Mac Allister is just entering his prime playing years and can only get better. His versatility makes him an obvious choice for United.
