Liverpool are planning to sign Inter Milan midfielder, Nicolo Barella, according to a report.
The Italy international has become one of the leading players in his position since joining the Nerazzurri and is being strongly linked with a move to the Premier League.
Barella initially joined Serie A giants on loan from Cagliari in the 2019-20 season, and his move was made permanent following the year.
The 26-year-old midfielder has scored 17 goals and provided 41 assists under his belt from 165 appearances for Nerazzurri, including six goals and seven assists from 30 appearances this term.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool hold a firm interest in Inter Milan star having identified him as a possible replacement for Naby Keita.
The Merseyside Reds will be fighting an uphill battle to prise the playmaker away from Inter Milan, though, as the report claims that he is happy at San Siro and is on board with Simone Inzaghi’s plans.
The report claims that an offer of €80m (£70.8m) could still tempt Inter into a sale, and the Merseyside Reds are believed to spend big on at least one new lynchpin this summer.
The Reds have also been linked with a swoop for Bayern Munich midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch, who has managed just one Bundesliga start for the Bavarians since joining them from Ajax.
