Arsenal are closely monitoring Aston Villa centre-forward Ollie Watkins. The Lions could get as much as £50m for England international. Rumoured to be wanted by the Gunners in the summer, Aston Villa could find themselves in a good position when it comes to the prospect of selling their number 11.
After so far netting eight league goals, Ollie is enjoying one of his best campaigns at Villa Park since his £34m move from then-Championship side Brentford in 2020. On top of his eye for a goal, his incredible work rate would also please Mikel Arteta, and so it is no surprise to see the Spanish manager’s admiration of him.
Arsenal will feel that they will need extra forward cover next campaign, especially considering they look likely to qualify for the UCL, and Gabriel Jesus has found himself injured for a large chunk of this season.
Nketiah and Jesus have both been impressive this campaign, with the former deputising for the latter who has been injured since the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
