Sofyan Amrabat is being signed by Man United.

The additions of custodian Andre Onana from Inter Milan and Mason Mount from Chelsea have already strengthened Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils team this summer.

Rasmus Hojlund, a new striker, is also headed to Old Trafford. Atalanta of Serie A had been demanding a cash-only deal, and the two clubs have now agreed to a deal worth somewhere around €70 million. Hojlund has signed a five-year contract with Manchester, and on Tuesday, he will have a medical and complete the transfer process.

Amrabat is a different player whose transfer to the Red Devils has received significant media attention. The 26-year-old previously worked with Ten Hag at FC Utrecht, where he made 50 appearances and assisted on 11 goals. With Amrabat entering the final year of his Fiorentina contract, a reunion may be in the works.

Early last month, personal terms for a move to Old Trafford were agreed upon, and it appears that a deal is imminent.

The Mirror provided an update regarding Man United and Amrabat, which was relayed by The Faithful MUFC. According to the report, the club is nearing a £26 million agreement to sign the midfielder, who is anticipated to join them to strengthen Ten Hag’s options in the middle of the pitch and relieve pressure on star player Casemiro. Fred might soon be leaving, it is added, if a deal can be reached this week.

Sofyan Amrabat, who is she?

Amrabat is primarily a defensive midfielder, but if necessary, he can also play in a central position, box to box. The Moroccan international has been playing for Fiorentina since 2020, and his career-high €30 million Transfermarkt valuation, which skyrocketed after last year’s World Cup in Qatar, suggests that he is at the height of his abilities.

Reporter Carlo Garganese referred to him as a “monster” in the middle of the pitch. He gained attention after assisting Morocco in reaching the semi-finals and was praised by former England manager Fabio Capello.

“Amrabat would be the name I would mention if I had to, in addition to the well-known Hakim Ziyech and Achraf Hakimi. He is a fantastic runner and necessary for balance. I saw that he travelled more than 14 kilometres when playing Spain. He reminds me of Gennaro Gattuso in Morocco.

The midfielder, who is sponsored by Nike, has played for senior clubs in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy over the course of his career.

Amrabat, who has received 49 international caps, appears to be in the prime of his career and is a player Ten Hag is familiar with, even if it was earlier in his career. A transfer could prove to be a wise move, particularly with Champions League football returning to Old Trafford next season.

It appears that Amrabat is on his way to Manchester to provide competition and possibly play alongside Casemiro. A strong, deep squad could help United build on a successful first year under Ten Hag.
