Arsenal and Real Madrid are both interested in signing Villarreal’s Pau Torres to strengthen their defences, but the Spanish club is asking for a hefty fee of €50 million. Torres is a Spain international and is currently valued at €49.1 million by FootballTransfers’ in-house algorithm. Other clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Juventus have also shown interest in the player, which could drive up the price. Villarreal have previously received €40 million for Cedric Bakambu and €38 million for Eric Bailly, so they may be able to get a record transfer for Torres.
Arsenal and Real Madrid are once again facing off in the transfer market, this time for the rights to highly-coveted Villarreal defender Pau Torres.

Torres is a Spain international currently valued at €49.1 million by FootballTransfers’ in-house algorithm, and Villarreal are said to be holding out for €50 million for the 24-year-old.

Although this would be a new record transfer for Villarreal, they have received €40 million for Cedric Bakambu and €38 million for Eric Bailly in the past, so they are well placed to negotiate a successful deal.

Several other clubs have also expressed an interest in Torres, such as Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Juventus, which could drive up the price even further.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Real Madrid remain in the running, though neither club is willing to pay over the odds. Both are keen to strengthen their defences and see Torres, who has already established himself as one of the standout young centre-backs in La Liga, as the ideal addition.

The transfer saga for Pau Torres is set to do on for a while yet, and all eyes will be on what the Spanish club is able to command for the player. With other clubs set to join the race, Villarreal could stand to benefit from the bidding war that is in the offing.
