As of right now, deals for Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber have undoubtedly cost Arsenal more than £200 million. Undoubtedly, that is more than they had planned to spend on this window.

There are rumours that the shopping binge will continue and that a transfer for another midfielder is likely. Arsenal’s summer activity would only feel complete if another offensive player was acquired, even if another midfielder were to be added.

The squad is being urged to sign a dependable replacement for Bukayo Saka. It can be expensive and difficult to acquire one, but Arteta and Edu can make it happen. What if they opt to improve their right flank with a loan agreement (which would be cost-effective) and then decide whether or not that loan agreement can be changed to a permanent contract the following season?

If Mikel Arteta is successful in persuading Ferran Torres to join, he may be the player that is signed on a loan contract. The Spanish player has had trouble breaking into Xavi’s starting lineup, and Barcelona is willing to let him go on loan in order to help them figure out their pay problem. Listen to Xavi when he talks about Torres: “Perhaps Ferran has surprised me the most,” he stated to the reporters last year. Torres could be a terrific replacement for Saka.

“He is a player on another level; he is remarkable in how he reads the play, links plays, keeps the ball under control, and defends. He is top-notch. He is a fantastic addition and the player I wanted to play for.

Torres has ties to Man City, and at the Emirates, people with Man City ties shine, therefore I can see him shining here. If Arteta was able to make Odegaard into a player of the highest calibre, how challenging will it be to do the same for Torres?
