Kilmarnock, a Scottish Premiership team, has officially announced the loan signing of James Balagizi, a young player from Liverpool.
According to the club’s official website, the 20-year-old midfielder will join for the balance of the 2023–24 campaign “pending clearance.”
The team led by Derek McInnes is currently fourth in the league standings, which is a big improvement over their early-season performance last year.
Is it conceivable that Liverpool will finish any long-term work in January?
The increasingly likely response to that question is a resounding “no.”
Goncalo Inacio, the highly-regarded center-half for Sporting Lisbon, is among the names that keep coming up, indicating that our interest is at least somewhat serious.
But, it’s more likely that we will wait it out and finish the season with the present team before reevaluating our requirements in the summer.
The return to form of current utility man Joe Gomez and the rise of Jarell Quansah will have certainly allayed the coaching staff’s concerns this season.
After the season, there will still be a significant need to dedicate resources to future planning in order to strengthen a backline that is more than a little vulnerable to an injury problem.
