Due to Mikel Arteta’s injury crisis, Arsenal may be missing several important players for their match against Bournemouth tomorrow.

Important players like Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are probably out for the Gunners, and the health of others like Bukayo Saka and William Saliba is still in doubt.

And when it comes to Saliba’s injuries, journalist Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail has given a somewhat concerning update tonight.

William Saliba’s injury may be more serious than initially believed

Mokbel disclosed the following concern on social media tonight regarding Saliba and the other Arsenal injury concerns, which also include Saka.

“Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka should be fine, but Bournemouth’s team selection may be affected by the two major games (Lens and Man City) that are coming up,” Mokbel posted on X in reference to William Saliba’s “knock.”

massive hit

Arsenal’s injury situation is a bit of a nightmare right now, and their season may be ruined before it even gets started.

This update regarding Saliba implies that there may be more going on than just a knock or fitness problems, contrary to previous suggestions. The phrase “foot problem” suggests that Saliba may be bothered by something that requires further investigation.

Saliba is reportedly one of four, or even six, first-team players who skipped today’s practise in preparation for the match against Bournemouth.

If the £27 million acquisition is sidelined, the Gunners will have a major hole in the back to cover. As one of the league’s top defenders at the moment, Saliba will require some backfilling.

Right now, Mikel Arteta must be cursing his luck. When the international break rolls around again, Arteta will be really kicking himself if there are any more serious injury issues.
