In a recent interview with Football Insider, talkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor urged Arsenal to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

What is the most recent Arsenal transfer news?

The Gunners are considering a number of options ahead of the summer transfer window, with journalist Dean Jones claiming they need at least one, if not two, new central midfielders, with Declan Rice and Ryan Gravenberch being linked.

Jones also clarified that Mikel Arteta is looking for a new full-back, with Ivan Fresneda still on his radar, as well as an exciting wide forward, implying Olise could be on his way to the Emirates Stadium.

According to a recent report, the north London club is interested in signing the Crystal Palace ace for the summer, but he will not come cheap, as the Eagles would require at least £40 million to sanction his departure.

In an interview with Football Insider, Agbonlahor urged Arsenal to sign the winger because he would fit right in and work well in Arteta’s preferred system.

“I think he’d fit perfectly into that Arsenal side,” the pundit said.

“He’d be an excellent backup for Saka.” Arsenal’s top players should avoid injury, but if Saka does, they won’t have a replacement on the right side.

“I think Olise would be a fantastic signing, but it all depends on what Crystal Palace ask for in the summer window.”

Should Michael Olise be signed by Arsenal?

The 21-year-old has been a key player for Crystal Palace this season, contributing two goals and eight assists in 29 Premier League appearances, the most of any player on the team.

The starlet, dubbed “sensational” by the media, ranks in the 86th percentile for assists per 90 over the past year, and in the 81st percentile for successful take-ons, highlighting his dribbling ability.

Not only that, but the £47.5k-per-week winger has no qualms about pitching in on defense, averaging more tackles and blocks per 90 minutes than Saka in the previous year, indicating a willingness to track back.

Although Olise is not yet at the level of Saka, who has scored 22 goals in the Premier League this season, he would be an excellent backup option, and at 21 years old, he is only going to get better.
