Tim Sherwood has suggested that Manchester United should consider signing Aleksandar Mitrovic from Fulham in the summer transfer window, as the 28-year-old has been a consistent goalscorer in England and would be an upgrade on Wout Weghorst, who has only scored one goal in 11 games since joining the Red Devils on loan in January. Mitrovic has scored 107 goals in 198 appearances in all competitions since joining Fulham from Newcastle United for £22 million in 2018, and has been in the best form of his career in the last two years, netting 43 goals with seven assists in 44 Championship games last season and 11 goals with two assists from 19 Premier League games this term. However, with Anthony Martial being short of fitness and playing time, Marcus Rashford being more effective out wide, and Fulham not wanting to sell their in-form talisman, who is tied down until 2026, Man United may have other names on their shortlist.
Manchester United could be set to upgrade their striking options in the summer transfer window, with former Spurs coach Tim Sherwood suggesting that the Red Devils should consider signing Aleksandar Mitrovic from Fulham.

The 28-year-old Serbian forward has been an impressive goal threat for the Cottagers since joining from Newcastle United for £22 million in 2018, with a total of 107 goals in 198 appearances in all competitions. He has been in some of the best form of his career in the last two years, scoring 43 goals with seven assists in 44 Championship games last season and 11 goals with two assists from 19 Premier League games this term.

The suggestion has gained traction, especially with the Red Devils only having one goal in eleven loanee games from Wout Weghorst, and with star hitman Anthony Martial being short of fitness, and Marcus Rashford being more effective out wide. Furthermore, Fulham do not want to sell their top striker, who is tied down until 2026, meaning Mitrovic could be a great addition to Man United’s squad.

However, there are other names also on the Red Devils’ shortlist, so if they decide to explore the possibility of bringing Mitrovic to Old Trafford, it may come down to how much they are prepared to pay for the prolific goalscorer.
