Following the impending departure of midfielder Donny van de Beek, Football Transfers reports that Manchester United is getting closer to signing Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina.

Due to their financial situation, the Red Devils are forced to sell before adding another member to their team. After bringing in Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hjlund, United has spent £166 million on three new additions.

After a productive first season in which he won the Carabao Cup and qualified for the Champions League, Erik ten Hag is eager to strengthen his team in order to compete on all fronts in the upcoming campaign.

The Dutch coach has reaffirmed his intention to increase competitiveness and depth across every position within his team. He stated to Sky Sports through the Mirror:

“Due to the quantity of games we have to cover, we need to double every position. We need competition, and you’re always dealing with suspensions, injuries, and player form. I need good players, but every player also requires the right mindset.

According to reports, Ten Hag wants to sign another central midfielder, and Amrabat has received a lot of attention. However, United must shed undesired players to raise additional finances and make way for any newcomer.

Delete dead wood

Ten Hag declares Van de Beek, Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire, and Fred to be unnecessary. For the sale of Maguire, Manchester United and West Ham United have reached a settlement worth about £30 million. The 30-year-old, who practised with the first squad on Wednesday, will have his physical soon.

Van van Beek is wanted by Real Sociedad, claims Football Transfers. The La Liga team is considering the prospect of bringing in the Dutch midfielder on a loan with a buyout clause at the end of the current campaign.

Galatasaray and Fulham are both showing an interest in Fred. Reopened talks between the Cottagers and Manchester United are reportedly underway for the Brazilian midfielder.

Man United’s anticipated move for Amrabat would be made possible if they were able to collect money through the sale of Maguire and the release of Fred and van de Beek.

According to the source, personal agreements have already been reached with the Moroccan player and United are moving towards signing the Fiorentina player.

If United could finalise a deal to get Amrabat, a Moroccan midfielder who is rated at £26 million by Transfermarkt, it would be a great move. As Fiorentina finished eighth in the Serie A and advanced to the UEFA Europa Conference League final, he made 49 games in all competitions and contributed one assist.
