If Erik ten Hag is fired, Manchester United might “take a chance” on Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi. However, journalist Dean Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Zinedine Zidane and Julen Lopetegui might also be in the race for the Old Trafford position.

The Red Devils’ worst-ever European campaign came to an end earlier this month when they were eliminated from the Champions League. Finishing bottom of a group that included Bayern Munich, Copenhagen, and Galatasaray, they managed just four points from six games. This setback has raised questions about whether there will be changes in the dugout.

Following ten Hag’s support in the transfer market, where he spent about £175 million on players including Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund during the summer window, Manchester United struggled in the tournament.

Ratcliffe is aiming for De Zerbi.

After officially joining the Manchester United board, incoming minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has decided to fire Van Hag and is targeting to give De Zerbi managerial control, according to Football Insider.

The chief executive of INEOS, whose £1.25 billion deal to purchase a 25% share in the Red Devils may be finalised before Christmas, reportedly wants to assign the Italian maestro the responsibility of radically changing the team’s style of play if he decides to leave Brighton.

But because of De Zerbi’s successful tenure at the Amex Stadium—which included bringing the Seagulls into a European competition for the first time in team history—other teams are attempting to entice him away from the south coast, including Manchester United.

This is due to the fact that Carlo Ancelotti’s prospective successor, 44-year-old Real Madrid, has been added to the list. However, Brighton is confident in their ability to retain Ancelotti since he has a lucrative release clause in his contract.

Though he is also being connected to Manchester City and teams in his native country, it is believed that De Zerbi is pleased in his current surroundings and will soon sign a new deal on better terms, which might give the Seagulls even more momentum.

Reputable journalist Jones recently stated to GIVEMESPORT that the former head of Shakhtar Donetsk will be a candidate to succeed Pep Guardiola when the latter departs from the reigning Premier League champion Manchester City.

Revisions for Dean Jones – Roberto De Zerbi

Given his stellar results as coach of Brighton, a domestic opponent, Jones has declined to discount the chance that Manchester United will make a move for De Zerbi when ten Hag’s tenure ends.

The respected reporter is sceptical that Zinedine Zidane will be in the running for the head coach position, even though he thinks former Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Julen Lopetegui will also be taken into consideration by the Red Devils administration.

As Jones stated to GIVEMESPORT:

“Manchester United might decide to take a risk on De Zerbi if and when ten Hag does leave because he has shown himself in that Brighton setup. I don’t mind if he can fit in with Manchester United’s culture. They will be drawn to managers like De Zerbi and Julen Lopetegui, in my opinion.

“I’m not really buying that they’ll go for somebody like Zinedine Zidane or anyone down that route because I think you’re going to have to be willing to work within certain confinements, particularly in the early days as they start to get to grips with the changes that are going to be going on.”

La Liga giants want Greenwood.

TalkSPORT reports that Mason Greenwood is drawing interest from La Liga powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid. However, Manchester United has not yet announced intentions to provide Greenwood with a path back into the first team when his loan from Getafe ends.

Based on his accomplishments in Spain, which attracted scouts to watch him play, the report says the Red Devils plan to sell their academy graduate in the summer. He has scored 35 goals in 129 games for his boyhood club.

However, Greenwood has confessed that he is eager to make the transfer from loan to Getafe permanent after they gave him the opportunity to rekindle his career, so Barcelona and Real Madrid may have a difficult time luring him to them.

Hojlund, Rasmus
Manchester United will decide on the winger’s future later in the season since they have more important things to focus on, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who spoke with GIVEMESPORT recently.

A few days before to the summer transfer market closing, the Red Devils issued a club statement in which they stated that, following the completion of an internal investigation, it had been mutually decided that Greenwood should pursue his career outside of Old Trafford.
