According to renowned journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United is still interested in Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong.

The Dutch right-back has had a strong season for Leverkusen, scoring five goals and assisting seven times in 30 appearances across all competitions.

His form has caught the attention of several elite European clubs, and it has been widely reported that Manchester United is keeping an eye on him ahead of a possible transfer.

Plettenberg claims that the 22-year-old is still on the Red Devils’ radar, but that no contact has yet been made with his agent or Leverkusen.

Frimpong is currently under contract with the Bundesliga club until June 2025, but he is ready to move on at the end of the season.

Earlier in the season, Diogo Dalot was United’s undisputed right-back choice. Aaron Wan-Bissaka appeared in just four minutes of action prior to the World Cup.

It was widely predicted that Wan-Bissaka would be sold for an attacking right-back, but his mini-revival has completely changed the situation.

Wan-Bissaka has been outstanding defensively since the World Cup. Despite only coming on at half-time, he won eight duels and seven tackles in the Carabao Cup final.
