According to a Daily Star report, Arsenal is confident that they will win the battle to sign Declan Rice this summer because they have put themselves in a strong position to do so.

What are the most recent Arsenal transfer rumours?
In their pursuit of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, the Gunners have recently received a boost after it was revealed that Juventus may withdraw from the race after refusing to match the Serbian’s €40 million (£35.5 million) asking price.

According to journalist Dean Jones, Mikel Arteta may need to sign two new midfielders during the summer transfer window. A bid is being prepared for Valencia’s Yunus Musah, but the report makes it clear that Rice is still the main target.

West Ham is set to demand £100 million for their captain, refusing to budge on that asking price, and he could be on his way to the Emirates Stadium, according to a report from Football Insider at the end of April.

The Daily Star reported that Arsenal is now confident they can land the England international because they have put themselves in a strong negotiating position and are willing to make him one of their highest paid players.

In an effort to win the race for his signature, the Arsenal are likely to quadruple the central midfielder’s £60k weekly salary. As such, coming to an agreement on personal terms shouldn’t be a problem.

The West Ham player’s current club may be forced to make a profit this summer due to his repeated refusal to sign a new contract; Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea have all been mentioned as suitors.

Is Declan Rice worth £100,000,000?
Clubs must be willing to pay a premium in order to sign a player who is entering his or her prime, and while £100 million is a significant sum for any player, the Englishman has established himself as a top Premier League player for a number of years now.

The 24-year-old, who has already made 201 appearances in the English top division, has received praise from the media for being “exceptional.” This season, he has averaged a 7.05 WhoScored match rating, placing him among the top 30 players despite playing for a team that is in danger of being relegated.

Journalist Charles Watts referred to Thomas Partey as “awful” after his performance against Man City, and Jorginho, who is currently 31 years old, is one of the few workable backup options.

As a result, Arteta will need to add at least one new central midfielder this summer. Rice would be a great addition, even if Arsenal must break their transfer record to beat them to his services.
