Rice’s decision to join Arsenal this summer may have been altered by the fact that Manchester City entered the race weeks prior to the Bayern talks, but it does appear as though he is open to the idea.
In the event that the Gunners make a compelling offer, Rice is willing to accept, and it appears that Manchester City now has the opportunity to influence the midfielder’s decision.
In all honesty, City might not have too much trouble changing Rice’s perspective. They are, after all, one of the wealthiest clubs in the world and the reigning European treble champions.
While staying in London with Arsenal is appealing, Rice may find it difficult to pass up the opportunity to play for Pep Guardiola’s City team.
At this point, it appears that Rice will join either Arsenal or City, with Bayern Munich clearly out of the running.
