Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was pleased with the second-half performances of Antony and Alejandro Garnacho in their Europa League loss to Barcelona on Thursday night.

The manager noted that the duo was brave while they ran directly at Barcelona’s defence and their dribbling gave the team a boost. He added that the way in which they took on players, running in behind them, was part of his game plan.

“They are both so brave,” ten Hag told Manutd.com. “They dare, they don’t fear anyone, and, especially when you go to Stretford End, and they take players on, run in behind, it gives a boost to the whole team.”

The manager commented that this direct running was part of United’s attacking plan, and he is hopeful that the team will be able to utilise this tactic in future matches. He added that Antony and Garnacho are excellent examples for the other players, and he has full confidence in them to continue producing attacking threats for United.

Ten Hag praised the duo for their courage and combative spirit. He expressed that he expects more of the same level of play from Antony and Garnacho in the upcoming matches, and he is confident they can help the team move to the next level.
