Anthony Martial was injured and forced to leave Manchester United’s game against Sevilla after only 52 minutes.

Anthony Martial has only played three games since making his comeback as a substitute against Everton.

It was no surprise to see the Frenchman hobble off with the Red Devils trailing to Sevilla. His body can’t hold up, and he lacks the mental fortitude to play through the pain.

Injuring himself in Sevilla is nothing new for Martial. He also spent half of his loan period here in the treatment room.

Paul Pogba limped off in Manchester United’s loss to Liverpool one year ago this week. His Manchester United career ended there.

It’s possible that we won’t see Anthony Martial again this season. This season, each injury has taken him several weeks to recover from.

Manchester United’s season is coming to an end in a few weeks. Anthony Martial’s time to persuade his manager to keep him is running out.

Martial simply cannot be relied on as a backup to a new striker. His fitness record is dismal, having failed to complete 90 minutes of cardio since 2021. He was completely ineffective on the pitch last night.

According to The Athletic, United spent £58 million on Martial with add-ons, and he has proven too unreliable to be of use to Erik ten Hag.

According to the Mail, Anthony Martial is among the players Erik ten Hag intends to sell this summer. His recent return from injury provided what could have been one last chance to persuade him otherwise.

If his latest injury keeps him out until the end of the season, he has no chance. There’s a good chance this is the last time we see Anthony Martial in a Manchester United shirt.

It would be fitting if the final image was of him despondently hobbling away. The only issue will be finding a buyer.
