Declan Rice is a great fan of Arsenal veteran Emmanuel Petit, and he also thinks Mikel Arteta’s team would benefit from signing Moises Caicedo and Alexis MacAllister from Brighton.
The Gunners are having a fantastic season and can move five points clear at the top of the Premier League with a victory over Everton tonight. However, if they want to compete in the Champions League next season, which is looking more and more likely, they will need to make some changes to this squad.
According to CaughtOffside author Ben Jacobs, Arsenal appear to be the favorites to recruit Rice from West Ham this summer. Petit has approved the transfer, stating it appears to be time for the England international to move on to a larger club.
According to the Metro, Petit told Premier League Odds, “I’m a huge supporter of Declan Rice.
He has to move on from West Ham and perform at a higher level in order to realize his full potential. If he wants to advance and compete in significant tournaments, he must participate in them each and every season.
“I believe that he is having trouble at West Ham and that his environment is not one in which he can adapt and grow.”
Caicedo and Mac Allister were two further players mentioned by Petit as potential additions to the Arsenal midfield.
When I first saw Mac Allister and Caicedo play, I have continued to be a huge admirer. They would also look great next to Rice, but I am aware that Arsenal won’t try to get all of them.
