Should the attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz leave the team “at the latest” in 2025, Liverpool will be in the thick of things to sign him.

Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich will compete with the Merseysiders, according to Florian Plettenberg, who verified the news on X (previously Twitter).

Liverpool hopes to qualify for the Europa League against LASK.

If the Bavarians are able to make the financial commitment, they are thought to have the advantage.

Wirtz would be a very flexible option for any interested party because he can play on both flanks but primarily stays in the middle of the park.

A player with enormous potential

With 16 goal contributions in 18 games this season, the German international has been in incredible form across all competitions.

You only need to look at the 20-year-old’s 2022–2023 stats, which include just 12 goal contributions in 25 appearances, to see how quickly he has improved in top level football.

According to FBref, Wirtz is a very competent dribbler who already ranks in the 95th percentile for successful takeaways and has a keen creative edge (94th percentile for shot-creating actions).

Without a doubt, it’s a player we should keep an eye on for the upcoming season or so if we have the funds to properly put our hat in the ring.
