Brazilian midfielder Casemiro was acquired by Manchester United from Real Madrid last summer in a significant statement of purpose from new manager Erik ten Hag.

Bringing this guy to Manchester was viewed as a fantastic decision and one that would pay off because he had just won La Liga and the Champions League in the same season and was probably one of Madrid’s key players.

The fact that he cost £70 million made him the second most expensive player over 30 in history, after his old teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, but he has proven to be well worth the money.

The midfielder assisted United in winning the League Cup, giving them their first trophy in six years. He also finished second on the team in league overall rating, second in big chance creation, and first in tackles made, all indications that he has had a positive impact on the Old Trafford team.

During the summer transfer window, may Ten Hag replicate this masterclass? According to reports, the Red Devils are eager to sign midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and are willing to pay up to €150 million (£129 million) to do so.

Could Eduardo Camavinga be acquired by Manchester United this summer?

no say no, especially after the club’s successful recruitment of Casemiro to England last season; Ten Hag might decide to use these funds to sign one or more strikers.

The young player is a promising potential who has had success since joining the Spanish team from Rennes in 2021. Together with Casemiro, they won the Champions League and La Liga titles in 2021–2022.

Although he doesn’t contribute many goals, his passing and defensive skills are among of the best in the continent.

The Frenchman displays his incredible talent in the centre of the midfield to not only help out defensively but to also make accurate passes and carry the ball into the final third frequently. He ranks in the top 3% for pass completion rate (89.8%), top 3% for tackles won per 90 (2.14), top 8% for percentage of aerials won (64.1%), and in the top 3% for carries into the final third per 90 (3.06) across the big five European leagues.

It’s understandable why Sky Sports writer Nubaid Haroon labelled him “special” just last year. If Ten Hag could somehow make a play for the Madrid sensation, he would undoubtedly replicate his Casemiro masterclass.
