Dean Henderson’s future at Manchester United is over.

The on-loan Nottingham Forest goalkeeper has admitted that a return to Manchester United is now extremely unlikely, and the 26-year-old is hoping to sign a permanent deal this summer.

Henderson was dissatisfied with his treatment in Manchester over the last few seasons and is now aware that the Red Devils are looking for a new goalkeeper to back up David de Gea.

Henderson, who is unwilling to play second fiddle, is looking for a new club that will give him regular first-team minutes so he can force his way back into the England setup.

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have already expressed an interest.

Forest are also keen to keep him at the City Ground on a permanent basis, but understand that their Premier League survival is dependent on it.

Man United have been monitoring Gvardiol as a potential defensive target, with Erik ten Hag looking to bolster his defensive depth for 2023/24.
