Ilkay Gundogan of Manchester City has been strongly linked to a move to Arsenal this summer, and Fabrizio Romano has provided the most recent information.

It is no longer a secret that Mikel Arteta prioritises fresh acquisitions for the centre midfield position. While Kai Havertz and Romeo Lavia have also been mentioned as potential targets for a move to the Emirates, Declan Rice is unquestionably the main target.

The second name apparently on Arsenal’s radar is Gundogan, although the Gunners face fierce competition from Saudi Arabian clubs, according to Romano on GiveMeSport.

Saudi clubs, according to Fabrizio Romano, are “trying crazy things” to get Ilkay Gundogan, who is wanted by Arsenal.

One of the top midfielders in the Premier League is Ilkay Gundogan.

Over the years, the German has been simply brilliant for Manchester City. He was outstanding the year before, contributing significantly to Pep Guardiola’s team’s treble-winning campaign.

At the end of this month, Gundogan’s contract will expire, and to everyone’s astonishment, Manchester City has designated him as one of their players who will be released.

For Arsenal, who have reportedly made him an offer for a contract to join them for free, this is wonderful news. Rich clubs in Saudi Arabia, though, can outbid them with “crazy” bids.

They (Arsenal) are definitely interested in Gundogan, according to Romano. They spoke briefly, but Gundogan’s circumstances are difficult.

“Manchester City offered a new contract for a second season with an additional year’s option. Gundogan has received a three-year contract offer from Barcelona, and Saudi clubs are doing crazy things to persuade the player.

It is therefore a fairly open race and not at all simple.
