Kim Min-jae, a reported Liverpool target, is now said to be’very close’ to joining Manchester United this summer.

The South Korean has just won the Serie A with Napoli after a ‘incredible’ individual season. Many of Europe’s top clubs want him, including Erik Ten Hag and Jurgen Klopp’s teams.

Sadly for Liverpool, it appears that Manchester United are on the verge of signing Kim Min-jae, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Kim Min-jae, a Liverpool target, is’very close’ to joining Manchester United.

This season, Kim has been a standout for Napoli.

The Korean, along with Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, has been a major reason for the Partenopei’s first Serie A title in over 30 years.

Napoli is aware that those three players will be highly sought after. Osimhen, in particular, has been linked with a number of high-profile clubs in England and elsewhere.

The newly crowned Italian champions have no intention of releasing the Nigerian, and the same is true for Kvaratskhelia. Kim, on the other hand, appears to be on the move.

According to the report, the defender is’very close’ to joining Manchester United, with the Red Devils set to activate his £52 million release clause very soon.

Liverpool were also said to be interested in Kim, but no formal talks took place between the Reds, Napoli, and the talented central defender.

Kim possesses all of the qualities required to succeed in the Premier League, and if the report is correct, Manchester United is doing the right thing by signing a player like him.

At the back, Liverpool already have Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, with Joel Matip and Joe Gomez also available to Jurgen Klopp.

Signing another top-tier defender would have made sense given Liverpool’s recent injury woes, but it doesn’t appear that Kim will be joining them.

If Kim does join Manchester United, it will be interesting to see how he performs in the Premier League.
