Liverpool have been linked with a move for Josko Gvardiol, who was one of the stars of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The Reds have reportedly put an €80 million offer on the table for the 21-year-old, who could be the perfect defensive reinforcement for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Liverpool appear to be planning ahead for the future, with recent reports linking them with a move for Josko Gvardiol. The 21-year-old was integral to Croatia’s run to the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and has firmly established himself as one of the brightest defensive prospects in the world today.

The Reds have reportedly tabled an €80 million offer for the Dinamo Zagreb centre-back, who could be the perfect addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad. Gvardiol is known for his poise and composure on the ball, and would provide Liverpool with the perfect balance of defending and playmaking. He is a player of outstanding technical ability, equally comfortable with the ball at his feet and winning aerial duels.

In addition, Gvardiol has the experience necessary to handle the physical demands of the Premier League. He has made 41 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb across a three-year period, and has even captained the club at times. He is also accustomed to facing some of Europe’s toughest opponents, having featured regularly in Champions League matches.

Overall, Gvardiol appears to be the ideal candidate to bolster Liverpool’s defence. He has the quality and maturity to slot straight into Klopp’s team, whilst also adding youth and long-term quality to the centre-half position. His signature could prove to be a very shrewd move by the Reds, and if reports are to be believed, he is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the coming months.
