Despite being turned down for a January move and signing a new deal, Arsenal is still interested in signing Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.

After their unsuccessful January offers, Arsenal is still interested in acquiring Moises Caicedo, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

What’s new with Arsenal and Moises Caicedo?
The Gunners made it plain during the winter transfer window that they intended to go above and beyond to try and get the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder. However, offers about £70 million were turned down.

The month came to a close, and Caicedo remained in place. Furthermore, the Ecuadorian international player has recently signed a new contract with the Seagulls.

In fact, at the beginning of March, he extended his existing contract without a release clause until June 2027, with the option of an extra year in Brighton’s favor.

Given this, some people may assume that Arsenal would not bother making another attempt to sign the midfielder in the summer, especially given the strong ties to Declan Rice.

However, Romano just updated his YouTube channel to say that Caiedo is still very much on the team’s transfer list.

Arsenal have a lot of choices, he remarked. Remember what I said earlier? Caicedo is still a goal despite their conversations during the January transfer window.

Caicedo is once more on Arsenal’s list, thus.

Will Caicedo or Rice be signed by Arsenal?
Caicedo, who is only 21 years old, is unquestionably a great midfielder already. The Brighton man might be a terrific alternative, even though some fans may prefer England international Rice.

After the most recent game against West Ham, which the Seagulls won 4-0, his teammate Joel Veltman pointed out the distinctions between the two.

He’s powerful, not like [Tomas] Soucek or Rice, with muscle and everything, but he’s everywhere in midfield, the defense said of Caicedo, according to The Athletic. I appreciate that he anticipates where the ball will be.

“I only had one opportunity in the second half to get the ball to Soucek, but Caicedo was already jumping in because he saw it coming.

He has frequently demonstrated this ability to predict where the ball would land. That’s extremely impressive for a midfielder.

Maybe Rice and Caicedo will both be present at the club next summer, according to Mikel Arteta. The Hammers are trying to receive more than £100 million for their player, but Brighton have previously turned down a bid of £70 million for the 21-year-old, so it will cost a big amount.

If so, the team might have to win the Premier League in order to even have that kind of financial capacity.
